In her glasses

Guess what? I wear glasses/contacts.... sometimes that is. I am nearsighted so I need glasses for seeing far away. Like reading the projector in a college class or driving. But I don't wear them nearly as often as I should. Maybe it is because the glasses that I own are a little out dated. I got them in high school and I just felt like I needed a new pair. That is why I was so excited when Firmoo let me selected a pair from there collection.
Skirt: JCPenney. Jacket: Old Navy. Glasses:c/o Firmoo
I picked this pair of glasses because they are totally different then they pair I owned before. They are big and square and black. I really like them. However, I do have a hard time finding glasses that fit my face the way I like. That is why I like trying glasses on in person. These glasses do hit a little funny on my face but I expected that. Firmoo is a great company that offers great glasses in many different styles. The hardest part when ordering the glasses was actually getting my glasses prescription information from my eye doctor. But other then that everything was great.
*Also wanted to add that your first pair of glasses from Firmoo is free all you have to do is pay for shipping. How cool is that? Make sure to check out there sight and place your order.
I haven't seen maxi skirts being worn lately. But that didn't stop me from wearing this one. This is probably my favorite maxi skirt that I own. I just had to wear it while it was still November and I felt I could get away with wearing fall colors. As of late, I have been completely excited to go home for Christmas. I want to make cookies, eat cookies, put up decoration, play in the snow, see my family. I bet everyone is just as excited as me.

Thanksgiving in Augusta

I am back from my trip. I went down south to Augusta GA to see Clark and spend the Thanksgiving holiday with him. It was so good to see him again and we had a blast together like we always do. We stayed in a hotel on the Savannah River, which separates Georgia and South Carolina. There was a Riverwalk trail right in front our hotel which we walked that led over a bridge to SC. It was beauitful exploring the river front. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Hoodie: American Eagle. Shirt: Target. Pants: H&M

For Thanksgiving dinner we went over to one of Clark's buddies house that is in the military and his wife made dinner. They are also both 20 years old so it was nice to spend the holiday with another couple. Dinner was awesome, they are from Missouri so the food she made was definitely different then want my mom makes for Thanksgiving. But it was wonderful! It was also cool to see how other people make the classic dishes like sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, and cranberry sauce.
I'm wearing: Shirt: JCPenneys. Jeans: Macy's. Boots: Old Navy.
Clark's wearing: Shoes: Vans. Jeans American Eagle. Shirt: Nike.

I swear I didn't just wear hoodies and yoga pants the whole time. We went out and I wore two new dresses I had bought just for this occasion. It was to bad that I couldn't photograph them because it was dark by the time I was wearing them. I am sure you will see these so called dresses in the future. One of the nights I was there we went and saw the new Denzel Washington movie Flight. It was really good, just not what I expected! Definitely a must see movie.
Now I am just getting back into the swing of things. During the summer when I got to see Clark, after I got home it was really hard to get back to normal. But hopefully this time it will be an easier transition. I will have school and he gets to come home for Christmas. So I don't have to long to wait! I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Trips and thankfulness

These photos were also taken on Whidbey Island last weekend when I visited with my mom. This log cabin I am standing in front of is at the Coupeville cemetery. The log cabin was built about a hundred years ago and was a look out. I have been visiting this cemetery since I was a baby. All three of my grandparents that are gone are buried here. It was super cold and winding when these photos were taken. I also didn't realize how fast it gets dark now a days. It was 4:15 and already rather dark.
Pants, socks: H&M. Boots: Famous Footwear. Coat: A&F. Shirt: Eddie Bauer
I am on my way to Georgia right about now. I am so excited to see Clark. I probably wont be around here much over the next few days. I am sure a lot of you won't either. We will all be enjoying the holidays! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will fill you all in on my trip once I get back.

A few things I am thankful for:
1. Clark 2. Getting a good education at a good school. 3. My mom, dad, brothers. 4. Good food.  5. Netflix to keep me sane at night. 6. Ice Cream.

Coupeville

My mom came over from eastern Washington and picked me up in Seattle and we headed up to Whidbey Island. Both my mom and dad grew up on Whidbey Island in Coupeville Wa. It is really fun to explore a town that your parents are from. It is always really fun to hear my mom talk about the town she grew up in. Coupeville has definitely became more touristy over the years but is still so fun. There is a bakery called the Knead and Feed and they have the best cinnamon rolls ever, so of course that is what we had on Saturday morning for breakfast. We spent the rest of Saturday walking about the cute shops down town and going out on the wharf. That's where these photos are taken.

We also went out to Ebey's Landing. Which has a great story that my mom always likes to tell. So I will tell all of you. Colonel Ebey was one of the first permanent settlers to Whidbey Island. Him and his family lived in a house on a hill right next to the sound. Well the Native Americans living in Vancouver BC weren't happy about American's settling on the Island came down by canoe and scalped (cut off the top of this scalp) Colonel Ebey. Creepy huh? I am pretty sure we talk about it every time we go to Ebey's Landing. I love the history and the old stories of the Island.
Boots: Famous Footwear. Jeans: Macys. Belt: Walmart. Plaid Shirt & tank: Oldnavy.

I have one more outfit post from this past weekend that I am sure I will share with you within the week. Hopefully I can squeeze it in with Thanksgiving coming up and also I am flying across the country to Georgia on Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving with Clark and I am so excited! Have a good week.

Brick

Jeans & sweater: Oldnavy. Scarf: F21. Hat: American Eagle. Boots: my roommates.

I have been commenting like crazy on all the cute booties that everyone is wearing and here is me finally wearing some cute booties! To bad they aren't mine to keep. They are my roommates. It is fun to be the same shoe size as your roommate because it is like doubling your shoe closet! We actually don't borrow each others shoes very often just sometimes when we need a change. And I am glad I got to try these out for a test run! I definitely need a pair of my own. Also this pair of black skinnies are probably the best purchase I have ever made. (seriously) I got them at Old Navy last spring for like 34 dollars. And I love wearing them! I probably wear them once a week at least. Just saying.

I am so glad the weekend is upon us. Everyone have a wonderful Friday.

Portraits // Sophia

My good friend Sophia is thinking about going into acting or modeling and for this she need some head shots. So of course I wanted to do them. I am trying to get all the experience I can in photography and this was super fun. A lot of really talented photographers are self-taught and didn't necessarily get a formal education in photography, which I think is really inspiring. Maybe someday I will be one of those really great self-taught photographers. I also did all my own editing.

Let me know what you think. Which one is your favorite?

Warm and Cozy

Dress, Boots, Jacket: Oldnavy. Belt: H&M. Tights: F21. Scarf: old.

I love long weekends, I mean who doesn't right? I actually spent most of my weekend working on a research paper that is due today. I also had to wake up at 5:45am on Monday to register for classes. But still I love long weekends. And short weeks. Which go together.

This outfit put itself together rather easily which I love. It was also super warm and cozy which was nice since it is starting to get really cold out. I am really glad I snagged up these burgundy tights, I believe they were only six dollars! I think my hair is turning more of an orange tint which is okay, I guess. Just weird. Or maybe it just looks that way in these photos. Well that is it for my ramblings this morning. Enjoy the short week.

Forest green

Another week has come and gone. Geez time seems to be going fast these days. I guess I can't really complain because in about two weeks I get to fly down to Georgia and spend Thanksgiving with Clark. I am so excited so see him! I just need to make it through the next week and a half. That should be easy right? Well I hope so. I got school to keep me busy. I can't believe I haven't seen Clark in 3 months that is such a long time. The crazy things we do for love.
Jeans: Sweater: Oldnavy. Boots: Bearpaw. Bag: gift. Scarf: old. Shirt: c/o Sugarlips
This is one of my favorite bags. I got it for Christmas like 3 years ago and I have loved it ever since. And yes I am also that girl the owns a pair of look-a-like Ugg boots! They are warm and comfy! The leaves are starting to turn brown and the winter chill is in the air. I need another coat to keep me warm this winter. Maybe for Xmas. Have a great Friday and enjoy the long weekend!

Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

Apples are great and around my house there is also an abundance since I grew up on an apple farm! When I went home this past weekend for my dad's birthday I knew I wanted to make a yummy breakfast for my family that included a great fruit!
What you'll need
1 apple
Cinnamon
Honey
Pancake Mix
Water
Maple Syrup

1. So first I pealed and cut the apple. The apple pieces need to be pretty small, you don't want any huge piece. 2. Microwave apples for 1 minute. 3. Sprinkle 2 tbsp of cinnamon on apples and 1 tsp of honey. 4. In a separate bowl mix up the pancake batter. 5. Pour apples mix in with the pancake mix. 6. Stir well. 7. Pour on griddle and cook. 8. Top with your favorite maple syrup. I get mine from this farm in Vermont!

Enjoy this wonderful breakfast treat. I think it is just perfect for this time of year!
