I finally put together a video from our trip to Morocco last November! It was fun to make and remember the adventures.

We saw the Northern Lights!

Bucket list item for sure. We just visited Tromso, Norway for 6 days in the hopes to see the northern lights. I have always wanted to and I had researched that Tromso is the best place to see them. We went hunting every night we were there. The first two nights didn't have very good predictions but we went anyways. I actually cried on the walk back from our hotel on the third night when we still didn't see them because I was afraid we wouldn't at all. On the fourth night it looked like good solar activity but their was cloud coverage so we decided that we would just watch for them from our hotel room and we saw them! It was actually a great show when the clouds broke and we were so excited. The next night we drove out of the city a little bit to a darker area and waited for them. We saw them faintly and kept waiting and then after about an hour we got a really great show for a few minutes and they were gone again. It was amazing and I am so glad we got the chance to see them!

Meet Sal: the stray dog we rescued!!!

Hi all! I wanted to introduce our new dog Sal! We named him Sal after the word salvare which means to safe/rescue in Italian.
After his haircut, of course!

So I first noticed Sal about 6 months ago. He and two other stray dogs lived in a grassy area near the McDonald's in our Italian town of Teverola. I would take them and other stray dogs food sometimes. I felt bad for them but at least they had each other. And southern Italy has a really bad stray dog problem so by no means were these the only stray dogs I would see daily.

However, around mid January I noticed the two other dogs that were with Sal were now gone and it was just him by himself. I figured maybe there were just away for the day or I missed them. Of course, these dogs wander freely so I didn't seen them everyday but they were usually in the same spot. I would bring him food occasionally. The local Italians are nice as well and they would also bring him food and someone brought him a blanket to sleep on. After about 5 weeks of the other dogs  being gone and him being alone I wanted to take him in.

One day, February 22, I brought him food and came home and told Clark that I wanted to go save him. Clark said to call the vet first and see what we need to do. So I did and they gave me some good advice and basically said we needed to see if he got along with Knox before we definitely decided to keep him. So we went and brought him home. He was nervous at first but we set him up a bed and gave him food and he seemed to relax a bit.

It has now been two weeks and we have taken him to the vet, got him groomed, and he has continued to get more comfortable and more friendly. He is very sweet and we are enjoying him becoming a part of our family. Oh yeah, and him and knox get along. Knox just wanted to play with him but he is still warming up. But he has ready gotten to much more friendly!
