Matterhorn!

Going to Zermatt Switzerland to see the Matterhorn has been one of the things I have wanted to do since we arrived in Italy almost 3 years ago. It was definitely a bucket list item. We went over Memorial Day weekend and we had the best weather, luckily! It was perfectly sunny... we even got really sunburnt. Oh well haha it was worth it. Everyone was so nice and yes it was rather expensive but worth it. I would definitely go back!

Photos from Budapest

Photos from the time I took a solo trip to Budapest, Hungary at the end of March. I would like to say someday I will caught up posting photos but let's be real that is not going to happen. I mean it could but I guess I am just not as motivated to post on here as I once ones. Instagram is just much easier you know? Especially when it comes to travel photos. But anyways, I will keep posting when I get an itch or have some amazing photos to share or finally finish a hole book. It's been months since I have read a book.... whoops.

Germany Castles + Alpine coaster video

You would think since I have so much to post because of all the cool things we get to do that I would post more but I don't. I guess it seems a little daunting to go through all the photos after the trip and write whimsically about it. So instead here are some photos of some really pretty castles in southern Germany. We went at the end of April and had a fun time exploring the area for a few days. Please if you want to follow in real time - follow me on instagram @carleewengel . Also the alpine coaster (video at the end) was maybe the best thing we did the whole trip!

We saw the Northern Lights!

Bucket list item for sure. We just visited Tromso, Norway for 6 days in the hopes to see the northern lights. I have always wanted to and I had researched that Tromso is the best place to see them. We went hunting every night we were there. The first two nights didn't have very good predictions but we went anyways. I actually cried on the walk back from our hotel on the third night when we still didn't see them because I was afraid we wouldn't at all. On the fourth night it looked like good solar activity but their was cloud coverage so we decided that we would just watch for them from our hotel room and we saw them! It was actually a great show when the clouds broke and we were so excited. The next night we drove out of the city a little bit to a darker area and waited for them. We saw them faintly and kept waiting and then after about an hour we got a really great show for a few minutes and they were gone again. It was amazing and I am so glad we got the chance to see them!
