Meet Sal: the stray dog we rescued!!!

Hi all! I wanted to introduce our new dog Sal! We named him Sal after the word salvare which means to safe/rescue in Italian.
After his haircut, of course!

So I first noticed Sal about 6 months ago. He and two other stray dogs lived in a grassy area near the McDonald's in our Italian town of Teverola. I would take them and other stray dogs food sometimes. I felt bad for them but at least they had each other. And southern Italy has a really bad stray dog problem so by no means were these the only stray dogs I would see daily.

However, around mid January I noticed the two other dogs that were with Sal were now gone and it was just him by himself. I figured maybe there were just away for the day or I missed them. Of course, these dogs wander freely so I didn't seen them everyday but they were usually in the same spot. I would bring him food occasionally. The local Italians are nice as well and they would also bring him food and someone brought him a blanket to sleep on. After about 5 weeks of the other dogs  being gone and him being alone I wanted to take him in.

One day, February 22, I brought him food and came home and told Clark that I wanted to go save him. Clark said to call the vet first and see what we need to do. So I did and they gave me some good advice and basically said we needed to see if he got along with Knox before we definitely decided to keep him. So we went and brought him home. He was nervous at first but we set him up a bed and gave him food and he seemed to relax a bit.

It has now been two weeks and we have taken him to the vet, got him groomed, and he has continued to get more comfortable and more friendly. He is very sweet and we are enjoying him becoming a part of our family. Oh yeah, and him and knox get along. Knox just wanted to play with him but he is still warming up. But he has ready gotten to much more friendly!

Locks

Interrupting your regular scheduling programing of travel posts to bring you a real life real time update! I got my haircut about four days ago. About 12 inches off which means I got to donate it to locks of love. I wanted that much cut off anyways and when the hairdresser was like look up how many inches is needed for locks of love and maybe you can donate. When I looked it up it said 10 inches minimum to donate so I was like awesome let's do this. So yes I am sending my hair off in the mail which sounds odd but I am excited that someone might get to use my hair that is battling cancer.

Back to the haircut. Ever sense we went to Portugal, I was like I NEED a haircut. My hair is just way too long and got way too tangled especially after swimming in the ocean. I was in the let's get stuff done mood the other day and decided make a hair appointment was on that list as well. I went to a new guy. The last two times my hairdresser did a good job but pulled my hair so hard when blowing it out and I hated it! This guy was very nice and easy to work with. I just had him cut it but next time I would like to have it styled as well. Finding a new hairdresser is always one of the worst parts about moving along with finding a good mechanic and a vet you trust.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We are off for a long weekend, gonna explore the south east coast of Italy! (I was suppose to post this on Thursday whoops haha)

Taylor Swift Concert!

I got to see Taylor Swift on Tuesday, May 22, in Seattle and it was amazing. I have liked Taylor Swift since her debut album like 12 years ago. I lover her when she was country and lover her now that she crossed over to pop. This was the first time I saw her in concert and she is wonderful. The show was a full on production and so much detail went into everything. Even the confetti at the end was printed with her name in newspaper print. There was fireworks that were synchronized with the songs and we all got light up bracelets that changed colors and made different patterns the whole stadium was lit up and you could see everyone moving and swaying along with Taylor. I was truly amazing.
Charli XCX opened for Taylor and Charli was also amazing. Got the crowd totally hyped up and played lots of fun songs like Iggy's Fancy and her own bop right now Boom Clap. Camilla Cabello was suppose to preform too as an opening act but she ended up sick. I honestly just think she was hangover from the BBA and didn't feel well enough to come to Seattle which is really shitty. I mean it was ONLY 4 shows into a world stadium tour with Taylor Swift you probably need to have more stamina if you can't even last 4 shows. Back to Taylor though....
Before entering Centurtylink we walked around outside and got some food and also get to hold snakes since Taylor was called a snake and then took on the snake persona everything is snakes and there was live snakes for us to hold! Taylor came out to Ready For It... and she did like 5 outfit changed but had some outfits layered. At every show she plays a different old song acoustically and at our show she played Holy Ground which was awesome because it is my little brothers favorite. Oh did I mention that I went with my little bro and my mom. Almost all the concerts I have been to have been with my mom and we agreed this is definitely in the top 3 shows we have been too.
Another detail that I loved was the videos that either played with the songs on the big screen or were shown when she was doing outfit changes. The videos would be things like explaining why she disappeared from the spotlight or just cool snake graphics and desert roads.  Lots of fun stuff.

Also, if your wondering about my shirt. I bought a plain white camisole and did the Taylor Swift graphic in photoshop. I Googled "Taylor Swift png" to find photos that were photoshop compatible and already had the background deleted so I could overlap them easy. It was a little tedious but fun and I loved how it turned out. Once my little brother saw my shirt he wanted something to so I did a simple I heart T.S. for him with Taylor's face.

Home in eastern Washington

Just some random photos from the last couple weeks that I have been back in my hometown in eastern Washington state. I always put the state on the end of Washington because sometimes when I say Washington people think D.C. so I just say state so there is no confusion. These last couple weeks have been great. I have got to spend so much time with my family and explore some more of this beautiful state I grew up in and even watch my little brothers play lots of baseball! Oh and I got stung by a bee two days ago and my hand swelled up so much it was the worst. But it is going down now and I have been rubbing anti itching cream on it for the last 3 days haha. Spring time in Washington is really beautiful and I am glad that I chose this time of the year to come back and visit.
