Down on Paper Project: April + video

Hey there! I am sharing my Down on Paper Project for the month of April. I know it is the last day of April but since I am doing by week. I am actually sharing the last 4 weeks so the last day in this spread is April 26th.

I tired a few new layouts this month, some triangles! Which I really like how they turned out. I also went to Hobby Lobby early this week and picked up some scrapbooking stickers and letters because I was feeling more inspired to have a more scrapbooking feel. So this next week I hope to add more stickers and such.

I explain this months layouts in the video so if you want to take a look, you should!

It was a good month. We did some fun stuff!

Our apartment: april 2015

So Clark got back from Florida last Friday and before he came home I spent the previous two days cleaning up, vacuuming, washing clothes, and I thought it was the perfect time to take some photos of the apartment. It was semi clean (excuse the few straggling dog hairs) and of course the dog is back up on the couch as soon as the vacuum is put away. I haven’t shared any photos of our apartment since December so I thought it was time since we did a little rearranging since then. And also because I want to remember our first apartment that we lived in together.
It is only a one bedroom apartment but it’s fairly big for a one bedroom. And one of my favorite features is that the bedroom is right of the entry but there is also a second door in the bathroom that leads into our bedroom so it’s kind of like we have a master bedroom with a bathroom attached. Although the bathroom is the only one in the house it’s nice to have a door right off the bedroom and also one from the entry when people come over. Another thing I like about that is when the doors are all open you can walk in a complete circle through the bedroom, bathroom, entry, living room and back to the bedroom. This is fun because sometimes I like to play tag with Knox and I will run around and stop so he won’t know where I am and then he comes around the corner really quickly. I am scared every time. He is a quick little guy.
So yes the plant next to the TV is almost dead and I am not helping him a long at all. I was gone for 3 weeks back in March and I am sure Clark didn’t water it so now I think I just need to throw him out. But for right now he is covering some of the power cords that are pludged into the wall. Also the triangles behind the TV wall are still going after a year and a half. View my DIY post for that project here. We got our couches from Ashley’s Furniture and I’ll be honest I don’t like them and neither does Clark. The backs don’t hold up well and get all squished down so now we know. Our dining room table I bought for $100 at Target and it’s perfect for it’s simple purpose right now. I mostly use it for painting and crafts so it gets a lot of use. You can also tell it gets a lot of use with it’s paint splatters and such.

The art work behind he couch: The large painting of the mug in a military suit (so random right) we got from a artist in New York City. He was so sweet and had painted it. If you want to find him he said that he is there Saturday and Sunday in Central Park right by the Met, he is Asain but you’ll be able to tell it’s him from the gorgeous/fun/awesome paintings. The sloth pulling down the Titanic Clark got for me for my birthday from this Etsy shop. The Puget Sound map, I found in my grandmas garage. The abstract painting I did myself. Excuse the horrible lighting in the bathroom there is no window in there.

Happy Tuesday!

Paisley in the spring

After looking at these photos I realize that my black purse and brown boots don’t really go together but hey we were just going to a casual dinner and when I was looking in my full length mirror I didn’t have my purse on me so here we are. I got these awesome Steve Madden boots from TJ Maxx on Clearence. They are super comfy and cute! Also I love this dress, I have had it for a couple of months but this is my first time wearing it on the blog. So JUST SO NO TO LOOKING AT THE CAMERA IN OUTFIT POSTS!!! haha

Clark got back from Tampa Florida on Friday and we went to Olive Garden on a little date night. First reason was because I haven’t had it in forever and I was craving their breadsticks like it was nobodies business and reason #2 was because there was nothing in our house to eat for dinner since I hadn’t really gone shopping in the 2 weeks he was gone. I basically just ate all the food in the house and didn’t want to carry the groceries up 2 flights of stairs by myself while Clark was gone. Anyways its good to have my man back and to have cured my craving haha.

The sun it out today and after having a raining weekend, I am thankful for that!

Take me to the beach

On Tuesday, my friend and I headed to Wrightsville Beach just past Wilmington NC. She had never been to that beach and since it was a Tuesday in the middle of spring we figured it was a good time to go since there probably wouldn't be many people. It was the perfect day. There was just a few people and no clouds in the sky. Her daughter, who is 2, loved the water so much and I think could probably have stayed at the beach all day long. We hunted for seashells, drew our names in the sand and waded in the ocean. The temperature was about 75 degrees and while it was nice and warm and sunny it definitely wasn't hot enough to go full on swimming in the ocean. Although there were some people doing it so obviously it can be done.
We also fed the seagulls. At first I was just throwing a couple pieces of Pringles to one seagulls that was near me. And then I think he called all his friends over because there were a ton of seagulls and one pigeon that was fearless. And my friends 2 year old daughter Lea was so into it. She wanted to give all the seagulls chips and we were laughing and I am pretty sure people around us thought we were crazy because there were seriously SO many seagulls around us at one point. And some were hovering in the air. It was pretty funny.
After the beach we ate some lunch/dinner since it was like 3:30pm it was probably linner (is that even a thing) haha. Then we went to downtown Wilmington were we got ice cream at the best place. Its Kilwin's Ice Cream and Chocolate. It's all homemade and they have the greatest selection of homemade candy and fudge. I have raved about them before so if your in downtown Wilmington you should go. Then we walked along the boardwalk for a while and ate our ice cream. We petted all the dogs that went by and even stopped to admire the horses that were pulling the carriages.

After a long day we finally headed home. It was such a fun day spent with fun people. And since both of our husband were out of town for training it was nice to have some girl time. We chatted away about all sorts of stuff! And when I finally got home around 9:30 pm I was so tired that all I did was feed my dog and then took him to the bathroom and then went straight to bed! Happy Thursday.

Blossoms NC

Since I did a blooms post about all the pretty flowers from Washington State and there have been some equally beautiful blooms here in North Carolina and I didn’t want the states thinking I was playing favorites so here we are;) There are the prettiest pink trees in my neighbors yard like seriously I can’t get enough. I wish I knew the name of the trees I want one in my yard someday. I even took outfit photos with in the background last year.

Another bloom I like in NC is the wisteria. It’s so pretty. Although I won’t be planting it because it’s super invasive. But it’s really pretty to look at. I went to Raleigh on Thursday and there were the prettiest lavender wildflowers on the side of the road and also a ton of wild white dogwood trees along the highway. I love the flowers that bloom wildly!

Romping around

This past week the weather has been kind of bad. It has been stormy and humid almost all week. But this upcoming week is looking better and I am excited because my friend and I are headed to Wilmington for the day to play on the beach and eat some ice cream. I am excited. Both are husbands are out of town on training so it’ll be fun to have a little girl time.
Let’s talk about this romper. Ever since rompers came in style I have wanted one. But after I tried on my first one I realized that there not going to work on my body tip. BUT I didn’t give up. Not that I was going on a worldwide hunt but every time I would be in a store and see a cute one I would try them on and every time I hated the way they looked on me. BUT I was at Target the other day and had a coupon for 10% off so I was looking in the clothes section just browsing when I saw this romper that I am wearing. I grabbed a couple other ones and tried them on. The other ones didn’t look good but this one, man I love this one. I think the style is flattering to my body shape which was my problem with the other ones. And I love the pattern. What do you think? Do you like rompers! Also they are super comfy! Happy Monday.
