Magnum Pleasure Store Napoli

Y'all have had magnum ice cream bars right? They are so good. Well when we were in Florence, we walked passed a Magnum Pleasure Store (funny name) and Clark wanted to try it. But I knew there was one in Naples so we decided to wait until we got back to Naples since we could do it anytime. Well yesterday in the evening we headed downtown to get some yummy ice cream. The Magnum Pleasure Store lets you create your own custom ice cream bar! You can also buy pre-made ice cream bars but we wanted to do the custom ones.

I ordered vanilla ice cream on the inside, milk chocolate on the outside, nuts, and mini M&Ms, and then dark chocolate drizzle. Clark ordered vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate outside, brownie pieces and dark chocolate drizzle. They were really yummy. I could seriously go back for another one right now! I will definitely be back before we leave Naples. They have these stores in quite a few locations including London and New York.

Anyways, it was a fun little treat for a Saturday night and we got to explore a new little area of Naples that we had never been. It is a really nice shopping district and very walkable which is cool. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Clet Street Art, Florence Italy

When we were walking the streets of Florence, Clark kept noticing signs that had funny street art on them to make the signs look different then what they were suppose to represent. We mostly noticed them on Do Not Enter signs. After seeing 3 or 4 Clark started to take photos of them. Then a couple blocks from Ponte Vecchio we noticed a little shop that had the artists work in stickers and magnetics and a even a couple of original signs that the artist did. The lady that was working at the shop said the originals go from $5,000-$16,000 these days! What! They are really good and if I had all the money in the word I would definitely buy one as a piece of art.
On the other side of the bridge, the Piazza Michelangelo side. We found another shop that sold his stuff and turns out it was his actually work shop. There was way more stickers with I think close to all of his designs and there were t-shirts and other artwork he was doing as well. I definitely recommend going to his shop. Here is his Facebook page and you can find his shop on Google Maps by typing "Clet Abraham Studio."
We had a fun time looking for signs with Clet's work on it. We found a lot and there were so many all other Florence. There were also multiples of designs we had already seen. I guess he does it in a lot of major cities like Madrid and Paris and I can't wait to watch out for his work next time I am traveling.

Florence: Ponte Vecchio, David, + More

Some more photos from Florence, Italy. After this, I have one more post talking all about the food we ate in Florence. We ate a lot of good food and a lot of great gelato so I am going to do a big recap and  give my recommendations. Anyways, back to this post. The first photos are from our multiple viewings of Ponte Vecchio. The bridge is an iconic location in Florence and for a reason, it is so cool to see stores and homes build on a bridge. We only walked over the bridge once because we didn't it is usually so crowded with people. It seemed like all the shops on the bridge were jewelry stores which was weird. You'd think that variety would be key and not sameness haha.

The last day we were in Florence we went to the Galleria dell' Accademia  to see Michelangelo's famous sculpture of David. I reserved tickets ahead of time via the official office. I just called to reserve our time and you don't have to pay until you get there. But we got to skip the line at the entrance which was awesome. The David was magnificent and really large. You don't really get how large it is until you are standing underneath it. After seeing the David we walked about the museum some more. One of my other favorite pieces from this museum was a technicolor alter piece (photo below). I thought the colors were amazing.

And the rest of the photos are just either random, like the people playing musical instruments, the walls and walls of belts, street art, and then some really famous landmarks of Florence like the duomo and cathedral. We also came across the famous bronze boar which you are suppose to put a coin in this mouth and wish to come back to florence if you coin drops through the grate under the pig then you will return otherwise you will get bitten by the pig! My coin dropped into the grate so I guess I am destined to return!

As you can see from my photos it basically rained the entire time we were in Florence but we didn't mind to much. We came dress prepared and we have had really good luck with the weather on most of our trips. So a couple rainy days didn't hurt us.

Doing 50 blog posts for the 100 day challenge. Instead of a post everyday (which would be crazy for me) I am doing one every other day and so far on track!!!

Rooftop hangs

One of the best things about moving around because of Clark's job is meeting new people and making new lifelong friends. I am not sure it is will actually be the case but lots of the friends I have I believe will be my friends forever. We have been so lucky to meet some really cool people. On Saturday night, one of our friends had a big BBQ and housewarming party. There was like 40 people there and it was so much fun. I was in charge of the games and we played the lifesaver toothpick game and the orange under the neck game. We used to play them at my Halloween parties in junior high/high school and I thought they might be too juvenile but they were actually a big hit. I just wanted to share the photos from Saturday night. Nothing very special or curated but you know real life and real friends and good times.

Also, Clark was pretty trashed by the end of the night. The host of the party and I had to help him to the car and make sure there was a bucket close by just in case of puke haha. He had fun and is a trooper though. Also, so much good food. Seriously the people we know make the best freaking food. I think I gained 10 pounds just looking at it. There was corn bread, potato salad, steak, bacon wrapped asparagus, rice, chow mien, chicken salad, fruit salad, chocolate cake, cheesecake, brownies, guacamole. Okay I need to stop before I convince myself I need some more food right now when I am not even hungry.
