Tivoli Gardens

A little bit of my childhood dreams came true when Clark and I visited Tivoli in December and went to some of the gardens. Clark and I were both about 13 when the Lizzie McGuire movie came out so it was definitely part of our childhood. I remember having it on VHS when I was a kid and watching it and pretending to be Lizzie and of course getting to preform at the Colosseum and a handsome Italian is into you and you are like 14 and just deciding to go off with this person in a foreign country.... okay that is my more adult brain talking but when we did visit it was awesome and just like we saw in the movie! Remember when Paulo was like "I want to show you the Tivoli Gardens at sunset." Well these are the gardens he was talking about.

The gardens were mostly empty because the day we went it was cold and cloudy but that is a good thing because the photos are better when there is no one in them haha. As we were walking along the long line of fountains coming out of the moss covered concert. Clark was goofily sing "hey now hey now this is what dreams are made of..." and I was like "oh Paulo" ...so fun.

Castel dell'Ovo

Hey all so these photos are just from mid July. Clark was leaving for work and we wanted to have a fun day out of the town just us. Of course it is SO HOT here in July so by the time the day ended we were basically melting haha. I had seen Castel dell' Ovo from about every angle that you can in Naples. From the top of the hill and along the coast line but I had never actually been in it or seen it up close. So we walked long the promenade and went inside. Turns out you don't have to pay to go to the top of the castle which was awesome.

We enjoyed awesome views of Naples and the Mediterranean from the top. All while trying to find shade of course because of how hot it was. After we were done with the castle we had a quick stop at the Fountain of the Giants which sits just outside the castle. Then we made our way back along the promenade looking for gelato and obviously we found some because it is Italy and it was delicious.

The Green Mile: Stephen King

This is another book that I picked up at the thrift store because I recognized the title and of course the very popular author. I had never read the book or even seen the movie but I know it has rave reviews so I figure I would give it a chance. The book was great. I cried at the end. I would probably give it 8/10 stars. I like it and the writing was great but I guess I am not into the whole other worldly thing. Like the magic healing powers or in The Shining the telepathic mind reading. I guess I don't really believe in that so the book isn't as riveting to me. I know that it is fiction but I like plausible fiction like stuff that can actually happen and to me mind reading isn't realistic.

But all the same the book was great. The story was mostly set in 1932 at Cold Mountain penitentiary from the view of Paul Edgecomb. Sometimes the story would flip to what was the present (at the time of the book at least) and Paul was actually writing the story of what happened in 1932. Paul was in an old folks home and had a secret there as well. Toward the end of the book I could kind of tell what was going to happen in 1932 so I was more interested in what secret old man Paul Edgecomb had.

This still book had some language and gory details it wasn't a horror novel by any means like King's usually work.
