Bloomsday: 12K race

So yesterday was the 'Bloomsday' 12K race in Spokane WA, and wow it kicked my butt. My mom and I did it last year and walked it of course. (Oh a 12K is 7.46 miles) This year it was my mom, my moms friends, my boyfriend Clark, and I and we wanted to beat our time from last year. We ended up beating it by 4 minutes which is awesome! At one point I had to use the bathroom so I had to wait in line and run to catch up with my little group. I am still tired, oh and did I mention I am sunburnt and my lips are chapped.

I cant really complain though it was a good time overall. It is so festive and there are bands playing on the sidewalks and people dressed up. When we were waiting to start there were three ladies behind us that have been doing it for 30 years and they have ballon hats on! There wasn't the Elvis playing the accordion from last year which was a little disapppointing. Now time to rest up and train for next year so we can beat out time, soon we will be running it!

Our time was 1 hour and 53 minutes and I finished 24,558 out of about 55,000 people.

I also did the drive from Spokane WA to Seattle WA, again yesterday. Two weekends in a row!  You can check that out here.

If you are looking for a good time and some exercise, check Bloomsday out. People come from all over the country and more than 55,000 people participate. Maybe I will see you next year!
