Russian tea cakes

This is another recipe that my family makes every year during the holidays. I know that it is January and I am a little late on posting this. But better late then never. These are really good! And always a favorite treat around my house.
You'll need

  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus more for rolling cookies
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. 2. Cream butter then at vanilla and powdered sugar gradually. 3. Once that is mixed well as salt and flour gradually. Then at pecans and mix well. 4. Roll dough into 1in balls and place 2 inches apart. 5. Bake for about 8 minutes. 6. Remove from cookie sheet and roll in powdered sugar while still hot. 7. If your heart desires, place a Heresy's kiss in the dough and form a ball around it to hide the kiss. Cook as directed above. (I did this to about half the batch, surprise kisses in some!!)

Enjoy
love, Carlee
