Providence Canyon

I am still on my posts from when I visited Clark in Columbus GA during Labor Day weekend. I have one more after this I believe. Then on to more adventures and regular life here in North Carolina.

Providence Canyon was about 40 minutes south of Columbus GA. Supposedly known at Little Grand Canyon. I actually wouldn't know because I have never been to the Grand Canyon. There were so many trees it was hard to get a great view of the canyon but it was still beautiful.
We actually parked and hiked to the button of the canyon first. There was 2 trails a 3 mile trail and a 7 mile trail. We opted out to do either because we did not have the proper footwear for a long hike and you know we just were not feeling up to it. It was fun to explore and I was so excited about the red dirt clay. Is it weird I was excited about that? We don't have that in Washington State or the Pacific Northwest at all so it was really cool to see it all everywhere! We hiked back up out of the bottom of the canyon and walked to the lookout.
Can I talk more about the humidity here! Ugh. I just can't handle it. As soon as we got back to the hotel I got freshened up and changed my sweaty clothes! I am really excited to see what type weather fall and winter bring. There was also a lot of families out and about here exploring. This was just a great little day trip.
