Halloween Bat Light Hanging /DIY

I always get into the decorating / home decor mood around Halloween because I LOVE HALLOWEEN and I want my house to have all the halloween decor in it. I have realized that I don’t have many ledges or shelves to put decor on. I am sad I don’t have a mantel. So I can’t justify buying a bunch of mini pumpkins and gourds (though I want to) because I don’t many places to put them. So anyways, I wanted to make something that didn’t require a shelve. I saw a bat mobile at Target that was $12 and I thought I can make something like that for way less.
You’ll need
- Black construction paper
- Fishing line
- Tape
- Scissors
- Outline marker
- Wire or the top circle
Directions
1. I printed out bat silhouettes on white construction paper and cut around them.

2. I traced around the bat cut outs onto the black construction paper.

3. Then cut them out. I made 10 black bat cut outs.

4. Then I tapes the fishing line string to the bats. I made sure the string was different lengths so it their were at staggered lengths when hung up.

5. I then tide the string to a wire loop that was the same size as our lighting fixture so I could easily put the bats up. You can also tape or pin the bats directly to the ceiling but I thought the way I did it will make it easier to keep year round.

6. Then I taped the wire to the lighting fixture with transparent tape.

7. And now it hang over our dinning room tape!
This DIY was fun and simple and didn’t cost me anything because I had all the items on hand (which is the best DIY in my opinion.) It adds a little Halloween flare to our dinning area and I am game for anything that adds Halloween flare! Happy October:)
